IDEO CEO Tim Brown @ MIT

March 16, 2006: Went to MIT Sloan School of Management Dean's Innovative Leader series to listen to Tim Brown President and CEO of IDEO. Pretty intersesting talk with supporting presentation of IDEO products/campaigns and some video. He primarily talks about "Innovation through Design Thinking" and he illustrates this approach with three major themes:
  • Inspiration
  • Ideation and
  • Implementation
There are a couple of books from Tom Kelly of IDEO. Here is a link to one of Kelly's most recent books Ten Faces of Innovation.

Final paper for Fast Track Mod I

Getting ready for the end of the module project. At this point, I am not sure on what the format should be for the final project. After finishing the creativity stream I feel like doing something creative with the project. One of the criteria for the project is how we use creativity in analyzing complex and ambiguous data.

Also, we were encouraged to keep a journal about our learning experiences during the module so I am going to go back to my journal for this project.

Final Face-to-Face for Mod I

Attended the final face-to-face for the Module I over the weekend. The whole Friday was about entrepreneurship and I loved that day. We had some surprises on that day and I do not want to reveal them here. The session started with a good case on Jack Welch and GE. Lot of numbers in this case and we could really use one more day to discuss this case.

Another fun thing we did on Saturday was to do our presentations as part of the creativity stream. We had five teams presenting at various locations on campus (including the Babson chapel) and the rotunda. Now it is time for the final stretch - the end of the module project.
